One of Aberdeens leading O+G Operators is looking for a Finance Controller to join them asap on a long term contracting basis.

Leading O+G operator in Aberdeen is searching for a Finance Controller.


  • Ensure a sound internal control environment is maintained and provide guidance to the business on the application of the control processes.

  • Manage the General Ledger

  • Manage control support and assurance process

  • Ensure timely and accurate accounting and reporting.

  • Manage control process for reporting requirements under the TSC.

  • Apply accounting policy to business situations in accordance with Group Policy

  • Ensure the timely and accurate submission of Statutory Accounts and Tax requirements in accordance with local GAAP requirements

  • Ensure effective system of internal control is embedded in line with the Group Finance standards and practices including ensuring SoX compliance and control requirements are met and maintained

  • Development and implementation of robust control policies and procedures in the Region.

  • Cost recovery and cash call process


  • Recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA/ CIMA/ ACCA) (or qualified through exceptional experience)

  • Extensive experience in accounting, control and reporting and ideally P2P experience

  • Experience in E&P, preferably with experience of operating in a PSA / JV environment

  • Able to consistently review and adapt approach and style to meet ever changing requirements.

  • Experience in managing people

  • Able to manage conflicting work issues and deadlines.

  • Ability to deliver results against tight deadlines

  • Ability to take initiative and look to drive process change and improvement

  • Highly numerate with strong analytical capabilities

  • Excellent communication skills

Job Offer

An excellent day rate is available for the successful Finance Controller to be based in Aberdeen. Please note this role will be working on a 9 day fortnight rota.
