Compliance Manager, Harrogate, £Competitive Due to continued growth, an established successful entrepreneurial business in Harrogate is recruiting for a Compliance Manager to take responsibility for the day to day management of the Compliance function.You will ensure the Company's policies and procedures are in line with regulations, legislation and ethical standards, providing advice on potential risks and dealing with these as appropriate. Main duties Compliance:
• product conformity and safety, ensuring compliance with legal obligations regarding EU legislation and in association with overseas suppliers and Trading Standards UK
• maintenance and updating of product safety manuals or Quick Start Leaflets for all relevant UK/EU and overseas regions
• maintenance and monitoring of their Patents and Trade Marks
• manage insurance policies - in association with the company's insurance brokers
• oversee WEEE and Packaging Scheme - quarterly submissions and maintenance of WEEE data to relevant body
• oversee Intrastat - calculation of EU trade statistics and monthly declarations to HMRC and the Office for National Statistics, liaising with the Accounts department
• Coordination and management of all necessary compliance with data protection rules and regulations (including GDPR) and the updating of the Company's associated policies and procedures
• review personal data held by the Company and instruct management on deletion/storage as appropriate in line with GDPR
• raising E/Cert documents/certificates of origin in association with Chamber of Commerce
• handle escalated customer claims of either personal injury or damage to property, liaising with insurers where necessary
• Annual Compliance and projects: o review annually and update Company Business Continuity plan o document Company procedures, systems and supply chain, including third-party supplier/consultants' agreements by department, in line with the underlying requirements for the Company Business Continuity Planning o introduce a Company-wide supplier vetting procedure o review, formalise and document the Company's Product Recall plan o review annually all product Conformity Certification is up to date in association with key suppliers o prepare and work toward ISO 90001 and Cyber Essentials Accreditation
• Resolve any problems arising, or complaints associated with the management of the Compliance activities, providing guidance, support and identifying any training needs
• Be alert to the threat of cyber-crime and adhere to the Company's cyber security protection guidelines Required skills
• Compliance knowledge including up-to-date knowledge of regulations, legislation and best practice
• Excellent time-keeping and time-management with the ability to prioritise the workload to ensure all tasks are carried out effectively and deadlines are met
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation, electronically and in paper form
• IT Literacy including Microsoft Office Close to public transport links and parking onsite
