UK Operations The business expanded its UK operations in 2014 with the acquisition of award-winning Pentagon Chemicals, operating from sites situated in Widnes and Workington. The acquisition of Pentagon allowed Vertellus to expand its range of speciality chemicals whilst increasing market share across Europe and saw the business renamed Vertellus Specialities UK . Role Overview - Finance Manager Split across 3 sites in the UK in Widnes, Workington and Seal Sands, Vertellus Specialities UK is a c.£65m turnover UK business which continues to grow organically across a range of markets. Due to this continued growth, the Workington site in Cumbria needs to recruit an experienced Site Finance Manager to work as a business partner to the Senior Leadership Team and General Manager, providing finance support, driving enhanced operational and commercial decision making through the provision of first-class management information. This is a varied role incorporating responsibility for the P&L and Balance Sheet which can accommodate 1 day a week flexible working from home. Role Specifics - Finance Manager As Site Finance Manager, you will be responsible for providing and communicating relevant and timely management information to the Site Leadership Team in order to facilitate improved performance through enhanced financial, commercial and operational decision making. As Site Finance Manager, you will be responsible for all site-based financial management, ensuring effective financial control, compliance and reporting, as well as supporting and leading financial aspects of Group business strategies. This is an autonomous role and a senior voice on the Site Leadership Team. Responsibilities include: To lead the timely production of financial results by ensuring entry of financial information into SAP to assist the management team with the decision-making process. General financial and management accounting support to wider Finance Team and provide ad-hoc support to the European Finance Director Preparing management accounts and owner of all Balance Sheet reconciliations. Prepare the annual operating plan (AOP) for the area of responsibility. To lead month-end close and reporting for the site. Cost variance analysis, GL postings, Accruals/Prepayments. Supporting annual standard costing / transfer pricing reviews. Active participation in continuous improvement and other lean manufacturing initiatives. Manage inventory provisioning and stock count deviations, support stock count process. Supporting the completion of annual statutory accounts, audit, year-end tax reporting and corporation tax returns submission. To assist in the training, mentoring and assessment of other team members Role Requirements: Qualified accountant CIMA, ACA, ACCA. The role could suit candidates looking to make a first move into a Finance Manager role. Knowledge of SAP FI/SD/MM or similar large company ERP. Advanced Excel skills (V-lookups/Pivot Tables). Strong communication skills and prior experience working as a Finance Business Partner to non-finance stakeholders. High levels of EQ - Emotional Intelligence, self-awareness, confidence in decision-making, resilience in the face of constructive challenge. Experience of working in a divisional role as part of a global Group. Experience of working in a manufacturing, FMCG, chemicals, pharmaceutical sector would be beneficial. Role can accommodate 1 day a week flexible working from home.
