Role Profile Job Title Compliance Assurance Adviser Reporting to Compliance Manager Department CPS Compliance Location Milton Keynes Job Summary To support the Compliance Manager in delivering to the objectives of the Compliance Monitoring team and Financial Services monitoring plan. As part of the CPS Compliance team, to conduct 2 nd line sampling to monitor emerging compliance and conduct risks within the 1 st line operational and sales teams. To support a compliance help desk providing advice and guidance to the FS business units on operational compliance matters covering FCA regulation, Anti Money Laundering and Data Protection. Key Responsibilities 1. Provide guidance to the FS business units (sales force and back office) via the Compliance helpdesk 'hotline' and FS Compliance mailbox 2. Undertake desk-based reviews on the quality of client file records and appropriateness of advice, reporting outcomes and conduct trends to support field monitoring activity and delivery of the FS Compliance Monitoring Programme 3. Assist in the production and collation of information required, in advance of investigations into acts or allegations of misconduct, highlighting potential emerging trends or issues to the wider Compliance team. 4. Assist with the assessment of fraud and financial crime case referrals from within the sales divisions, escalating to management should a suspicion require formal reporting. 5. Conduct quality checks on first line business assurance activities (back office and field-based teams) as per the Compliance Monitoring Programme. 6. Provide assistance to lender investigations, queries and request for information, providing and collating evidence as required to enable an accurate assessment on the required 'next steps' and the provision of responses to the lenders. 7. Support the Compliance Manager in validating effectiveness and closure of sales management and operational action plans through testing against adviser, team and business outputs 8. Provide compliance support and independent validation of change initiatives to provide assurance that process or system changes are operating safely and in the best interests of customers 9. Working with the wider team, use the key performance and risk indicators to carry out initial risk assessments on emerging concerns, enabling the Compliance Management team to decide appropriate 'next steps. 10. Co-ordinate and prepare regular compliance updates for cascade on compliance matters and trends arising Job Dimensions Internal Relationships : Group Head of Compliance Compliance Monitoring Manager Conduct Risk Manager 2nd line Compliance Teams Sales Management MIH 1st line Compliance Teams internal divisions Individual Profile Knowledge & Experience : Practical experience of working in an FCA regulatory environment, preferably within mortgages, protection and/or insurance Full CeMAP or other appropriate Professional Qualification Educated to GCSE standard (Grade C and above), to include English and Mathematics Skills : Ability to assess information and provide appropriate overviews to management Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and be able to influence and negotiate at all levels including management Be able to demonstrate the following: Questioning, listening and investigative skills Report Writing skills Analytical skills Influencing and negotiating skills Decision making and problem-solving skills The ability to work to strict deadlines individually or as part of a team.
