The Company REED Accountancy are delighted to be representing our client, a well-known Media group who are on the lookout for an Assistant Accountant to join their busy Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity with a reputable employer - you do not want to miss this The Job Reporting to the Company Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing accounts and other duties central to the efficient running of the finance function. Duties include but are not limited to: Maintaining the purchase ledger Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts and completion of balance sheet reconciliations Providing detailed sets of financial reports and analysis of financial information Preparation of statutory returns (VAT & EC Sales etc) Monthly Payroll and associated returns (PAYE, Pensions etc) Assisting the wider Finance team as required The Person Essential Criteria The ideal candidate must be either a Part Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA etc), a Qualified Accounting Technician (IATI/ATI/AAT etc.) or have at least 5 years' experience in a similar role. You must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role involving payroll and VAT returns. You must be proficient in the use of MS Office - specifically MS Excel, You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
