Assistant Accountant Great opportunity for experienced assistant accountant to join expanding city-based organisation. Reporting directly the head of finance you will take responsibility for the supervision and motivation of a small transactional team, ensuring that their work is processed efficiently, and for providing support with the preparation of management and statutory accounts, budgets and forecasts, analysis etc. Duties will also include: Managing the payroll process (outsourced) Balance sheet recs, Sage postings, audit of financial transactions Variance analysis / contract audit VAT returns Financial analysis Liaison with auditors Suit confident and commercially aware accountant capable of leading a small team, liaising with non-financial staff and adding value to the finance department. Must be solution focused, able to prioritise, drive through improvements, keen to understand the business fully and be AAT qualified or in the early stages of CIMA / ACCA studies. Proven financial and management accounts experience, the ability to produce accounts to trial balance stage and payroll skills essential.
