Mixed Freight Tuffnells is a leading provider of next-day delivery of mixed parcel freight consignments, specialising in items of irregular dimension and weight, with 37 depots, delivering over 13 million consignments per annum to over 4,500 customers About the National Transport Compliance Manager Role: Joining us as a National Transport Compliance Manager, you'll work directly for the Head of Operational Performance and Compliance assisting Connect Group Management in the investigation of areas of transport non-compliance using specialist skills and experience to identify and advise of remedial action to be taken to reduce deficiencies escalating any failures as appropriate. Main scope of role: Implement and maintain good transport practice(s) and technology/telematics to improve the performance of depots and enhance profitability Manage a team of two to ensure that all depots within the regions are compliant with road traffic legislation and company policy in relation to road transport operations via structured independent employee and subcontractor depot checks To protect the Operators licence of the Connect Group Business through a combination of structured health checks, training, coaching, guidance and support What you'll be doing: Conduct investigations as directed by the Head of Compliance to resolve known or suspected noncompliance activities and breaches of company policy; liaising with external governmental bodies if required e.g. DVSA and internal partners such as Fleet and Employee Relations Check depot procedures to ensure the in-depot systems and disciplines are being adhered to so that profitability and transport commissioner commitments are maintained Project manage transport implementation projects from start to finish, supporting the wider business strategy Devise, develop, implement and maintain Connect Groups transport related procedures and policies, liaising with key internal stakeholders and external stakeholders to ensure appropriateness for business requirements About You: You'll be able to evidence: Experience of working with and influencing internal and external senior business stakeholders Previous experience/knowledge of Transport Management systems Previous experience in the management of worker status claims and risks National Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Transport Working knowledge of Transport law including EU drivers hours and RTD Previous leadership experience of high volume transport operations and delivering a safety first culture Proven success of managing operators licence in a high volume transport operation What's in it for you?
