Relationship Director - Real Estate Finance Client Summary: Our Bank client offers straightforward business banking; they were established over 60 years ago and are truly challenging the big banks nationally and giving businesses a flexible alternative option for their funding requirements. Business Area Summary: Real Estate Finance is a core and extremely important, growing part of our client's business. They have recently embarked on a major project to build a brand new dedicated Development Finance team who will focus on lending to UK SME housebuilders. Role Summary: As a Relationship Director, you will pro-actively build, grow and maintain a portfolio of Real Estate Development Finance customers. Key Responsibilities will include: Deliver a continuous pipeline of new business opportunities through (a) referrals from existing customers (b) resolicitation of existing customers and (c) developing new high quality introducers (e.g. professionals/geographically important). Accountable for pro-active management (Credit, Financial, Operational, Reputational) of the portfolio from origination, in-life to close-out/repayment in line with company policy and procedures. Maintain and grow an introducer network to support requirement for new business. Build strong relationships with those sources to support the origination of REF transactions, developing new markets and competitor intelligence. Optimising Risk Weighted Assets, liquidity management (e.g. use of variable and fixed rate), Return on equity / profitability of individual deals and the portfolio as a whole through appropriate customer negotiations. Comply with REF strategy, risk, regulatory and operational policies. To positively represent and promote the REF proposition in the external market. Collaborate with the wider REF team and other internal business units to deliver great customer outcomes. Ability to articulate new business propositions and annual reviews (Quality credit applications, deal specifics and detailed risk appraisals) to Credit Committee. Accountable for execution of all Conditions Precedent and Conditions Subsequent as agreed with the Credit sanctioning body. Accountable for the completion of detailed analysis of professional panel input as part of the credit application process, including valuations, IMS reports, legal input. Responsible for ensuring the preparation and completion of Customer Due Diligence / Anti-Money Laundering documentation You Will Need: Advanced technical skills and experience in the structuring of REF (Development Finance) transactions/customer proposals to achieve best outcomes for customers and the Bank. Extensive experience of UK Real Estate Finance within the Financial Services Industry. Proven track record in key relationship management and business origination / development .
