My client, a large national organisation based in Exeter, have an excellent long-term career opportunity for a highly-academic Trainee Management Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. You will quickly become an integral part of the finance team and will be working closely alongside a fully-qualified accountant where you will gain invaluable, relevant and practical experience in conjunction with studying towards, or completing the AAT qualification. Your primary responsibility will be to provide crucial support with the production of the monthly management accounts and financial information, as well as assisting with preparation of annual budgets, year-end accounts and audit. Assist with the production of the monthly management accounts. Obtain the information for the production of journals and perform any necessary calculations. Post standard, reversing and recurring journals. Produce reports and back up documents which agree to the accounts. Perform all necessary reconciliations. Assist with the balance sheet reconciliations and complete the relevant spreadsheets. Dealing with external parties. Assistance with annual budgets. Assistance with the year-end procedures. In order to be considered for the role, you will need to have: A strong academic record and be studying towards AAT Levels 2 or 3. At least 12 months' experience working as part of a busy finance function. A sound understanding and working knowledge of using Excel. An ability to be able to work flexibly as a team player. Excellent communication and numeracy skills.
