£25,000-£35,000 (negotiable for the right individual), plus long term bonus element An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fund manager for a global value oriented hedge fund, which invests for sophisticated, high-net worth and ultra-high net worth investors. The company mainly outsources its operations, so the team currently consists of 4 people and is unlikely to be more than 10 people, 5 years from now. It is a flexible, highly specialized, small team environment where everyone has personal responsibility. With continued growth there is now a need for an Assistant Operations Manager tojoin the small team. Role and

responsibilities:
Compliance Completion of monthly and quarterly compliance and FCA reporting Working with the Senior Operations Manager and compliance officer to undertake the necessary KYC/AML duties on both the funds' investments and investors Keep up to date with current and proposed UK and European regulations Keep up to date with regard to global regulatory developments affecting the firm's business Operations Working with the Senior Opeartions Manager to help improve the operational processes surrounding a boutique global value fund Liaise with fund administrators and prime brokers on trade matters and all third party suppliers Provide support and relevant reporting to external service providers and internal team of 5 people Assist in managing the investment controls and processes surrounding the fund's investments including maintaining the operational records and control files of the fund's investments Assist with the management of the company's bank accounts in different jurisdictions Assist with the management of all legal documents including funds as well as corporate Work on ad hoc projects as they arise Assist in managing the tax structure of the company and investments Assist in the process for internal and external auditors with annual audits Assist in managing all investor enquiries and assist with due diligence requests Business Development Assist with the marketing process by identifying International Ultra-High-Net-Worth-Individuals and charitable foundations who are potential fund investors and manage initial communications with them Assist in managing the CRM system and take responsibility for communications with existing investors Must Have: Working knowledge of compliance Experience in process improvement Degree holder preferably a major in Business/ Accounting/ Finance (other disciplines also welcome) Excellent command of written and spoken English Strong desire and switched-on personality to work in an operations and control function within a small team environment Ability to work in a demanding environment Logical and diligent thought process with a close attention to detail and used to meeting deadlines Strong time management and communication skills Must be able to work on own initiative and set and adhere to deadlines Friendly, efficient, professional approach on the phone and in writing Desirable: Accounting/ book keeping experience is an advantage Knowledgeable in operations, risk management, compliance fund structure is an advantage CFA qualifications would be an advantage or desire to study towards them Hands on experience of working with different service providers Knowledgeable in various financial instruments, especially equity is an advantage Working knowledge of Quickbooks is an advantage Strong general IT skills Candidates from fund administrators are welcome Good people skills and excellent team orientation
