Hamilton Fraser are looking for an experienced accounts/finance professional to lead and motivate the finance team and ensure that all finance activates are handled in accordance with regulatory requirements, government requirements and specified procedures and timescales. In addition the job holder will be expected to identify training requirements and provide coaching and development where necessary. Some of the things you'll get up to: Management of the Department To ensure that all accounting processes follow best practice principals To ensure that daily, weekly and month-end finance reconciliations and routines are completed on time and in line with the specified practices and procedures To ensure that all documentation and processes fall within agreed service standards and FCA or SRA regulations To be responsible for the bank accounts of all group companies, ensuring that all payments and receipts are accounted for and reconciliations completed on a regular basis, as directed by the CFO, with all outstanding queries being investigated and rectified. To monitor and forecast cash-flow requirements, where required. To be responsible for monitoring and reconciling all 3rd party finance, insurer and OCE accounts and bordereaux To monitor and perform credit card, bank and insurer reconciliations, and to ensure differences and investigated and rectified. Manage the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities of the department. Plan and implement systems that perform the work and fulfil the goals of the department efficiently and effectively. Plan and allocate resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work to meet departmental productivity and quality goals. Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output. People Management Work with Human Resources staff to recruit, interview, select and employ an appropriate number of employees. Provide oversight and direction to the employees in the department in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures. Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee on boarding and providing career development planning and opportunities. Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members that allows for disagreement over ideas, conflict and expeditious conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness, supportiveness, and working effectively together to enable each employee and the department to succeed. Consciously create a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall Company vision and that emphasises the identified values of the Company. Lead employees using the performance management and development process that provides an overall context and framework to encourage employee contribution and includes goal setting, feedback, and performance development planning. Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of Human Resources, when necessary. We'd like you to have: Preferably ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified or QBE Proven and solid all round accounts knowledge with a minimum of 4 years account department experience or gained within accountancy practice Familiarity and experience with accounting systems, preferably Sage Line 50.
