I am working with a fantastic Children's Charity based in Watford who are looking for an experienced finance professional with interim experience for a 4-6 month assignment to cover the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) role to lead the Finance function during a period of restructuring for corporate functions. They are UK children's charity committed to helping vulnerable children and young people, and their families, throughout the UK. The role is full time, to start ASAP and paying up to £500 per day (The role is out of scope of IR35) The key focus for the role during this period will be: Finalisation of the five year financial forecast and 19/20 budget. Review and establish appropriate financial reporting to manage I&E, balance sheet and cash positions Support for the investigation and implementation of financing options. Lead implementation and embedding of the new finance structure and ways of working. Oversee year end with support of Head of Financial Accounts. Provide financial leadership to key projects and potential acquisitions. Qualifications required: Qualified accountant with evidence of membership and continued professional development Management qualification Experience & training: 1 Track record of managing at a strategic financial level, including planning and forecasting at Board level to deliver recurrent financial balance in practice 2 Demonstrating a high-level of financial stewardship 3 Demonstrable achievements in difficult financial environments and effective financial planning in challenging situations 4 Experience of working as a Board member in more than one setting / type of Board arrangement. Has experience of working in joint board arrangements 5 Proven experience of presenting and presenting financial and management accounts, reports and data 6 Experienced leader and manager of department, including direct line management, demonstrating leadership by example. Skills & knowledge: 1 Excellent communication skills both oral and written at a level to explain complex technical accounting methodology and financial outcomes. 2 Proven ability to work with statutory agencies to represent the charity in a professional way to promote our values and beliefs. 3 Evidence of promoting policies to enhance diversity within the workplace 4 Setting targets and to motivate and guide staff to deliver against these targets. 5 Working collaboratively and engagingly with senior managers to achieve agreed outcomes 6 Demonstrate personal integrity and confidentiality 7 Managing change within an organisation, either as the lead or with a primary role within the change process.
