We are currently working with friendly accountancy practice based south of Cambridge that are looking for a Trainee Accountant to join their established team, this role would suit someone who has recently started studying for, or is AAT qualified and is looking to start, their ACCA as study support will be provided. The role runs from 9.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday (some flexibility permitted around start and finish times) with an hour lunch break. This role will have the following duties and
responsibilities:
• Preparing journal entries, VAT Returns and FCA compliance reports.
• Completing general ledger operations.
• Closing and preparation of monthly financial statements.
• Reconciling and maintaining balance sheet accounts.
• Preparing financial reports and tax returns.
• Preparing analysis of accounts.
• Running year end closings.
• Administering accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Preparing budgets and cashflow forecasts.
• Account/bank reconciliations.
• Processing expenses reports.
• Preparing year-end audit files.
• Preparing R&D tax claims. The ideal candidate for this position will be someone who is looking to take the next step in their accountancy careers and has a fantastic study support package on offer. Ideal candidates will have the following skills and experience:
• AAT qualified or studying ACCA.
• Flexible and adaptable attitude - able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Hands-on approach with willingness to assist in other areas of the business.
• Confident with good communication and grammar skills.
• High level of computer literacy. Experience in Xero, Sage, Caseware, Word, Excel and TaxCalc preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
