Sitting within Central Services as part of the Audit & Compliance function and reporting in to the Compliance Manager. Extensive liaison and collaboration with key stakeholders around the business. A high profile role responsible for working across a broad range of areas to support the Company in working in a compliant way, including carrying out audits and training, providing advice and support, and working with the business to implement improvements to our Compliance Program. The role is important to managing the risk of regulatory enforcement action, and the reputational damage that would follow, with potential fines of >£10million for potential compliance breaches.
• Maintain a positive, efficient and close working relationship with internal business stakeholders, Branch and Group Compliance and with External Auditors
• Manage end to end elements of the Company's Compliance Program, including planning and delivering compliance audits and monitoring activity, identify risks and issues, identifying remedial action and working with business owners to deliver these actions. This activity will involve a number of compliance related areas, including but not limited to: o TPI and Direct Sales compliance - Including managing 3rd parties engaged to support audits and QA and maintaining and developing personal relationships with the Company's Sales Partners o Control over SOX, VAT o Licence Conditions o Quality Standards o Group Compliance Requirements
• Develop and maintain formal policies and procedures for compliance management activities within the company, including reliable, accurate and complete records of this work
• Management of external audits, including Group Audits, covering different the Company's processes including schedules, planning visits, facilitating the audits and helping the business deliver the corrective actions
• Maintenance of key compliance registers and systems (eg the Gifts and Hospitalities register, Delegation of Authority)
• Act as a source of advice, guidance and support for all areas and levels of the business in compliance related matters - helping the business to be compliant in all its activities
• Engaging with all 'Change' activity within the Company to ensure compliance considerations are included and that business processes and systems are focused on supporting compliance
• Develop training and support materials, and managing their delivery, to improve the understanding of compliance within the Company and with our Partners
• Developing and communicating compliance related messages and updates to the business
• Provide support and cover to the other members of the team in all aspects of the Company's UK Marketing compliance management
• Ad hoc projects relating to audit, compliance, internal control and risk
• Responsibility for managing their activities to ensure all relevant HSE risks are appropriately mitigated The role is based in Redhill but requires visits to the offices in London and Leeds. In addition, there will be travel to external brokers and TPI's located within the UK, in order to undertake audits and monitoring activity. Key to this role will be maintaining a positive and effective close working relationship with all internal stakeholders and external stakeholders. The purpose of this role is to help ensure the Company's compliance in all regulatory matters and to assist in identifying compliance and regulatory risks to the business and work with key stakeholders to manage these risks in order to avoid potential enforcement action and other negative business impacts. Able to work independently and manage a varied workload including reactive and proactive responsibilities. Able to communicate and influence at all levels of the business, as well as with external stakeholders. Collaborative approach and strong team working skills. Good written communication and numeracy. Direct compliance or audit management experience is important A strong understanding of the Energy Industry is preferable, including the regulatory framework that the Company operates within.
