Assistant Accountant

Mildenhall Hourly Rate: Competitive Hours: Monday-Friday - Full time hours We are looking for an Assistant Accountant on a temporary basis to join a busy team in Mildenhall. As an Assistant Accountant you will be operating within a highly competitive market dominated by national and internal companies. You will be responsible for raising all sales invoices, processing supplier invoices, reviewing non-conformance, agreeing all supplier monthly statements, debt collection, reconciliations and more. This is a dynamic and fulfilling role suitable for someone who is keen to develop their Accounting career. Ideally, you will be studying towards AAT or are AAT qualified but this is not essential. Duties: Managing the Sales Ledger from raising the initial invoice through to collecting the debt. Managing the Purchase Ledger from receipt of the initial invoice through to paying the supplier. Working with all internal departments, customers and suppliers to ensure queries and disputes are resolved effectively. Monitoring the cash flow. Assisting the Financial Controller in production of the monthly Management Accounts. Keeping accurate and up to date records, both electronically and paper based, as appropriate. Candidate Requirements: High level of attention to detail. Self-motivated with a clear focus on accuracy. Well organised and able to work effectively and calmly under pressure with a high level of tact, diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality. Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Natural problem solver. Team player with a can-do attitude. Knowledge of Sage Microsoft Office Advanced Excel, to include pivot tables and V-lookups This position is temporary initially with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right applicant.
