Accountant Team Leader

Salary:
up to £40,000 per annum

Location:
Hertford, Hertfordshire Contract: Permanent, Full Time Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm Company Profile: A rapidly growing firm looking for a confident, experienced individual to take on a ready-made client base and supervise a small team. Purpose of the role: To provide overall support to the accounts team as well as to work alongside the operations and business development teams to ensure best practice at all times and implement improvements to current processes. Duties of the role:
• Manage and grown an existing client base
• Supervise the accounts team
• Provide technical guidance to clients and the business
• Assist & train on the online accounting software
• Help grow the business through referrals
• Formulate training plans for the team
• Prepare year end accounts
• Supervise the submission of quarterly VAT returns
• Complete self-assessment returns
• Correspond with HRMC
• Ensure regular communication with clients
• Provide clients with accountancy & taxation advise
• Adhere to company standards & compliance Skills/experience required:
• Previous experience with IRIS software is essential
• Experience using FreeAgent software is advantageous
• Ideally fully qualified in one of the following accountancy qualifications such as AAT, ACCA, ATT or CTA
• Experience working within a contractor accountancy would also be highly advantageous
• Excellent accuracy and organisation skills
