Accounts Receivable Manager required to work for education institue on a temporary 6 month contract. Job Purpose: To effectively & efficiently manage the Accounts Receivable function, including the direct management of both billing and debt management. Professional liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, managers, the finance team and relevant company representatives. Support the work of the central finance team in the development, implementation and maintenance of effective financial systems and processes. Working with relevant stakeholders to ensure all financial operations are closely monitored. Provide secure, accurate and timely management information as required.
Responsibilities:
Work within the agreed financial management framework, and internal control processes across all aspects of company activities. Assist and advise the Finance Manager & the wider finance team in the production of monthly and yearly accounts. Provide, as and when required, financial management information to company and other officers. Supervision of the Trainee Accountant/Assistant Accountant. Initiation, preparation and processing of journals as requested. Maintain effective and efficient credit control management, ensuring that all necessary works are undertaken for receipts to be secured within the prescribed timeframe. Provide first-class aged debtors analysis together with high class commentary for the inclusion in the management accounts. Research and investigates methods to improve the credit control procedures. Maintain a regular posting of invoices, credit notes and receipts. Regular reconciliation of the general ledger with the sales order log. Maintain month-end reconciliation of debtors, highlighting any significant variances. Always maintain effective working papers. Contribute relevant KPI data to companies Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP). Assist the company Treasury team in the allocation of BACS remittances. To undertake additional or other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post and as directed and deemed appropriate by the Line Manager. Person Specification: Experience in the monitoring & management of sales ledgers Experience in reconciliation, month & year-end closedown, and dealing with VAT Experience of improving the relevancy, timeliness and accuracy of information Experience of working with finance systems (such as CedAr) Experience of working with schools Experience of credit control management Experience of providing financial management information Knowledge of journal processing Advanced excel user
