A local, well established family run business is seeking an Accounts Assistant / Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their supportive and friendly team. As part of a team of 5 your main role will be to look after Purchase Ledger function within the department, as well as other ad hoc duties within the accounts team. Daily responsibilities will include:
• Bank reconciliations (both sterling & foreign currency)
• Posting invoices & payments
• Assisting with tri-monthly payment runs
• Dealing with foreign currency payments
• Taking payments over the phone
• Dealing with incoming enquiries regarding account queries
• Creation of some manual invoices
• Other ad hoc administrative duties with the accounts function To be considered for this role you must have some experience from within an accounts based role, ideally purchase ledger and payment runs however other accounting functions will be considered. You must have excellent attention to detail and a willingness to learn, coupled with a traditional work ethic and the ability to turn your hand to any administrative accounts based function that is required. The accounts system used is completely bespoke to our client and full training will be offered to the successful applicant.
