Assistant Accountant Gloucester Full Time: 8:30am to 5:00pm (half hour for lunch) - 40 hours per week
Salary:
£Competitive I am in the market for an Assistant Accountant to join the finance department of a large employer in Quedgeley. The successful candidate will be supporting the management accountant and the operational management in completing accounting postings, account reconciliations, account analysis and administrative tasks. We are looking for candidates who enjoy working at a detailed level with an enquiring mind to find out more about the work at hand. Experience within a group may be beneficial as the role includes monthly agreement of intercompany balances for the group and related businesses. Training will be provided and the role will grow in to having complete accounts responsibility for one or more of the smaller group companies. The salary for this position is competitive and will be dependent on experience. Duties and Responsibilities " Assist with the production of monthly Management Accounts including journals prepayments, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations and overhead analysis " Raising of sales invoices " Coding of purchase invoices and credit card payments " Posting of general ledger journals " Reviewing age debtor balances " Preparation of monthly accruals and prepayments schedules " Assist with analysing accounting information " Assist with maintaining cash flow forecast spreadsheet " Assist with annual audit pack preparation " Assist finance department colleagues with various tasks Skills and Qualifications " AAT Qualification - working towards or achieved (or qualified by experience) " Attention to detail and accuracy " Ability to spot and investigate anomalies " Competent at bank reconciliations " Good excel skills " The ability to prioritise workload " Experience in working for an SME Experience with Sage 50, accruals and prepayment postings and balance sheet reconciliations would be beneficial.
