IMMEDIATE START TEMPORARY MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT REQUIRED Our client provides strategic leadership and vision for protecting and improving the nation's health. It is a distinct delivery organisation with operational autonomy to advise and support government, local authorities and the NHS in a professionally independent manner. JOB SUMMARY The FM Department, formed of a network of staff based in the PHE's operational centres/divisions, is the primary resource for financial management, analysis and decision support. The purpose of the role is to support the assigned FM directorate team in providing a professional and efficient management accounting service to the various functions. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To support the preparation of monthly financial information for senior operational managers. This should include sufficient information to enable cost centre managers to achieve their delegated budgets
• To participate in the preparation of the annual budget setting and in year forecast exercises for the assigned areas. To assist in the in-year monitoring of these budgets against actuals
• To ensure that transactions are accurately coded and reported, in collaboration with cost centre managers, and other relevant staff. This includes liaising with the workforce Information and payroll teams to initiate staff coding changes and other payroll queries, and ensuring project timecards are completed where appropriate
• To review the relevant stock reports for any area assigned to the postholder, in order to ensure that accounts balances on the FARM system are regularly updated for stock issues
• To respond to general queries and enquires from Budget managers and other operational staff, drawing up the necessary corrective journals where required
• To enquire and trail queries on behalf of the section and it's assigned units; including the investigation of budget variances, stock balances and various reconciliations
• To review and clear corporate control accounts relevant to the assigned area on a monthly basis, such as GRNI, VAT and payroll entries
• To input Grant-in-aid income actuals as required This job is being offered on a 6 month contract basis working full time, Monday - Friday. A competitive salary of £150 per day is on offer.
