Gleesons are currently working exclusively with an excellent wholesale business based in Northampton who are recruiting for a qualified accountant (ACA,ACCA,CIMA) to join the business as a Finance Business Partner. Key Duties: Finance Business Partner: Northampton Creation of management information including commentary which enables effective decision making To liaise with site and other management to understand variances to plan/forecast within the monthly accounts and the weekly reports; and work with budget holders to identify opportunities to achieve plan To review/approve balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the team Work closely with operational colleagues and senior budget holders to prepare the quarterly forecast and annual budget Actively seek, propose and implement process improvements in area of responsibility and department To build effective working relationships with site and other management and be the focal point of contact for the relevant business lines To ensure a detailed understanding and expertise in business line positions and issues Promote a strong control environment, challenging existing ways of working to ensure accuracy of performance reporting and business control. Prepare ad hoc analysis as required Through discussion with senior site and financial management develop and manage KPIs for responsible business lines and to drive business performance Manage the month end accounting process including review/approval of journals and balance sheet reconciliations; ensuring timely closure of the month-end books Present business line performance to senior management team as part of the monthly review process Ensure all accounting is in line with company policies Experience /Qualifications:Finance Business Partner: Northampton Previous knowledge of preparation of management accounts Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) Strong analytical background with the ability to produce meaningful and accurate MI / Decks for reporting to senior stakeholders and proactively interrogate, interpret and suggest clear next steps from a data set IT skills in Excel, PowerPoint The real aims of this role is to Lead a small team of management accountants to prepare the monthly management accounts and associated reports for designated management and work closely with the relevant Operations Director & Senior Manager and their team to understand business performance; challenging delivery of the plan and business line performance.
