FTSE100 energy/retail business is seeking a fully qualified Accountant for their UK HQ in Reading Permanent | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available This is a dual-purpose role working at the consolidated Retail level and within the Commercial and Regulation finance team. This role combines core accounting, reporting, P&L focus, planning & commercial activities Working with the Retail finance team, the group and business teams your objective will be to deliver an improved process for budgeting and forecasting. Ensuring that process and time line is set up to allow for effective bottoms up and tops down inputs Consolidated Retail reporting Track KPIs Execute controls Support the delivery of the month end close for the Commercial and Regulation Finance team, Support internal and external audit activities Accurate recording of transactions for tax purposes Demonstrable process improvement skills Skills and Experience Fully qualified accountant - CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or CPA Excellent knowledge of core financial systems - systems Oracle, Hyperion, TM1 - not essential Excellent knowledge of MS Excel - essential General accounting procedures Awareness of current regulations including IFRS / New UK GAAP and Companies Acts would be an advantage. Ability to look behind the numbers - analytical Driven, ambitious and career focused Keen to learn and develop Clear, concise and confident communication skills Demonstrable business acumen You will be able to work well in a team and alone and will thrive on delivering high quality work to tight deadlines. You will work well in a changing environment and have the ability to produce new reports and associated financial controls to suit an evolving business.
