With an enviable reputation and an ever-increasing demand for their qualitative approach, they are now in a position to recruit an experienced Economist at Technical Director level to be based in the Edinburgh City Centre office. Any working pattern considered including reduced hours. Few companies could boast the career prospects available within this group. The role will involve:
• Providing technical, advisory and analytical support to a wide range of public and private sector clients
• Technical Project Leadership with frequent client contact
• Developing business and winning work from key clients, particularly in the private sector/transaction space
• Coaching and management of junior and mid-level staff
• Delivery of strategic development, business case and risk appraisal, cost modelling, cost forecasting, demand revenue modelling and economic analysis on a vast range of major infrastructure projects
• Attending client meetings, managing timelines and preparation in the presentation of work
• Preparation of reports, analysis and models as needed by projects
• Generating and sharing ideas, presenting solutions and staying on top of market trends To be considered:
• You will have specific experience in people management and project management
• You will have a degree in a relevant discipline (economics, maths, business management or similar)
• A post-graduate qualification like an MBA / MSc in related subject would be a significant advantage
• Experience and interest in developing business opportunities
• Experience of working on and ideally leading on major transport / infrastructure projects would be a significant advantage
• Membership of an industry professional body
• Demonstrable experience in an analytical position / working with analytical frameworks and analysis
• Ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously with effective time management skills
• A thirst for solving problems and driving solutions forward
• A keen eye for trends, technologies and future applications of solutions to challenges
• Be experienced in the development of various business models I.E. Demand / Revenue forecasting, feasibility studies, CAPEX / OPEX, cost modelling / revenue modelling and related analysis
• Team mentoring and management experience and significant commitment to excellence in delivery and leading from the front Our Client is offering
