Senior Compliance Officer (2LoD) Reporting to Head of Compliance - Based in London Who we are Cashplus is a leading specialist UK digital challenger to banks for small businesses. The Role Cashplus are building a team of experienced, knowledgeable and proven Compliance Officers to control the firms Second Line of Defence (2LoD). As the firm grows with the aim of becoming a bank by the end of 2019, the need for high quality knowledgeable compliance officers with 2LoD experience is paramount to our success. Successful candidates will be presented with a compelling array of opportunities with the chance to enhance existing specialist skills in areas of personal interest. With wide-ranging cross functional compliance responsibilities, candidates will require significant operating knowledge of financial regulation and exposure within a retail banking environment. Operating as the second line of defence, based in London, the role will require the individual to work closely with stakeholders across the business from the most senior level, with a view of providing assurance in all areas of compliance. The core role of second line is to act in an advisory capacity for the business to ensure commercial progression and focused customer outcomes are achieved. As controllers of the compliance monitoring plan, the team are tasked with monitoring, assessing, recording and providing advisory assistance to the business in such areas as; Risk Register, Policy Updates, Regulatory Reporting etc. Furthermore, the team will undertake themed reviews of higher risk business areas. The role will also be required to undertake horizon scanning, looking into future regulatory and industry change, providing advice and guidance for business interpretation. You'll be responsible for Development, control and implementation of the Compliance Monitoring Plan inclusive of all testing and record keeping Themed reviews of core company processes; for example, Financial Crime Prevention, Data Protection (GDPR), Conduct Risk, SM&CR and Vulnerable Customers Review and update of company policies for regulatory and internal alignment Produce monthly reporting and commentary on the progress of compliance monitoring Maintain records of all regulatory events and decisions taken ensuring compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements, liaising closely with regulators Build internal business relationships to partner on projects providing compliance oversight and advice Support implementation and provide assurance of appropriate staff compliance training You'll have Detailed understanding of FCA Handbook, MLR, PSDII, GDPR, SM&CR and Conduct Rules Experience in regulatory reporting and experience communicating with regulator Compliance advisory & monitoring experience in an FCA regulated environment, preferably retail bank or EMI Confidence and proven ability to communicate at senior level Show excellent understanding and interpretation of emerging compliance issues Writing policies and procedure manuals and overseeing their implementation Awareness and understanding of wider business, economic and regulatory environment Desirable: Proven ability to decipher and report on large volumes of data at senior level Experience operating at senior committee level for reporting and recording Experience implementing and maintaining SM&CR requirements Knowledge of FCA publications Professional qualification in relevant industry discipline Degree level qualification What we offer Competitive salary plus a cash benefits allowance of 7.5% of basic salary 26 days' holiday rising by one day for each full year worked, up to 33 days Ability to buy and sell a further 5 days each year Life Assurance Season Ticket Loans Excellent Maternity and Paternity benefits Eye Care Vouchers Free fresh fruit every day Bi-annual company parties plus numerous company events Team building and socialising events Cycle to work scheme This job was originally posted as www.cwjobs.co.uk/job/85611132
