Our client is a successful and growing business in a niche sector with well-appointed offices based on the outskirts of St Neots. Due to upcoming transition within their finance function, they are now looking for an Interim Financial Controller to head up a small team on a day to day basis. This is a key position that will have a wide remit of responsibility which will include; Taking over from the departing incumbent and gaining an in-depth understanding of their processes, responsibilities and duties Preparing monthly management accounts and monthly finance pack Explaining variances Managing interim and full year audit process and production of statutory accounts and annual tax packs Working closely with the auditors Project accounting Ensuring quality control over financial transactions Ensuring all business processes and accounting policies are well-documented and kept up to date to maintain internal controls Coordinating and producing quarterly forecasts Working closely with other departments in the business and ensuring that finance is seen as a partner to the company as a whole Undertaking special projects as appropriate Deputising for the Finance Director This role is crucial to the successful operation of the finance department and the right person will have an established background working in a similar role and be hands on as well as being able to look at the bigger picture. The suitable candidate will be a significantly post qualified accountant with outstanding interpersonal skills, experience working in a project-based environment and of people management. As you will be working with projects strong working knowledge of IFRS 15 principles is essential to the success of this position and experience working with ERP systems would be highly advantageous. This role will be starting imminently and will last for at least six months and whilst nothing is guaranteed there could be potential for longevity beyond that.
