The role: Provide and discusses retirement options with potential retirees within the business Liaise with the Scheme Administrator to ensure quotations and options are delivered in an understandable manner Responsible for the completion and accuracy of all annual renewal data supplied to the administrator and to Payroll Ensures accurate calculation and implementation of pension contributions to the final salary scheme in non-standard cases including changes in part-time hours and maternity/paternity leave. Updates all local policies as required for approval by the Pensions Manager. Periodically reviews the administration procedures and ensures that any changes implemented are correctly recorded. Works with the Pensions Manager to ensure that any proposed changes to the final salary scheme are communicated to the administrator in advance so that quotations and benefit statements are accurate and helpful and that the member communications, and that follow-up on site presentations Considers the content and checks all pension communications and announcements for accuracy and compliance. Assists HR as necessary with both talent acquisition and retirement/redundancy programmes, designing and delivering presentations to new and existing members in groups or individually, as appropriate. Offers guidance but not advice, on pensions options to employees on understanding their pensions options, especially in the lead up to exiting the business on retirement or redundancy. Offers all employees (including Field based representatives) the opportunity to discuss any company pension related matter on a one to one basis The candidate: A high general level of education including strong numeracy. Demonstrated experience in a pension environment including operation of a final salary scheme or the appropriate Pension qualifications. Needs to be able to identify and meet customers' needs in a busy and pressurised environment Requires a good knowledge of a range of DB and DC pension products with an expertise of the workings of Defined Benefit schemes plus an understanding of the role of the Trustee and TKU requirements. Proven ability to keep up with changes in pensions and to be able to express pensions complexities in understandable words. Good Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Word.
