Vargo seeks a Credit Risk Analyst to join their clients Financial Services team where you'll be supporting the continued expansion of the business. The role involves providing in-depth analysis and reporting on our credit risk analytics in order to help drive forward our decision-making and data capabilities The successful candidate should have good interpersonal skills and the enthusiasm to quickly fit into a fast-moving, innovative and high-profile working environment. No prior working experience is necessary, although a familiarity with financial services or risk/finance analytical techniques would be a distinct advantage. The role will initially cover all aspects of credit risk, with the ability to specialise in particular areas as the business grows and develops. JOB ROLE Reporting and monitoring of our credit performance across a range of channels and products Support the design, implementation and testing of new credit strategies, scorecards and decisioning systems Design, develop and utilise effective analysis and management information, identifying potential changes and producing actionable proposals Assessing new data sources, tools and techniques to ensure the quality of credit decisioning is maintained in a fast-changing external environment Ensuring all credit risk documentation and procedures are kept up-to-date Monitoring, maintaining and enhancing all aspects of credit risk decisions Providing a wide range of data work in order to meet the Credit Risk team's goals Support ad-hoc projects as needed REQUIREMENTS Essential A 2:1 or higher in a numerical degree Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint to produce clear documents and analysis, presenting complex information in an effective manner Experience of extracting, manipulating and analysing data using SAS/SQL (or similar data tools such as R) Strong planning/organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload, by prioritising different workstreams and supporting wider projects as required Good written & verbal communication skills and attention to detail Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others Desirable An academic or practical background in financial services and/or risk/financial analysis techniques is a distinct advantage, although not essential Team player willing to get involved in team activities Enthusiasm and "can-do" attitude Previous experience of working in a collaborative environment
