The Role A not-for-profit business based in Oxford are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their team paying up to £30,000 including an attractive benefits package and study support. This is a really exciting role for someone looking for a varied finance role and play a crucial part with the organisation's finance team. Responsibilities of the role include, but not limited to: Monthly and quarterly reporting Preparing accounts up to trial balance i.e. accruals, prepayments, journals Submitting VAT returns Preparing VAT reports Bank reconciliations Overseeing the AP function Handling supplier queries Processing expenses Liaise with a variety of external audits and assisting with year-end accounts The Company The successful Assistant Accountant will be working from their office situated in Oxford with on-site parking. The Candidate It is essential that candidates come from an all-round transactional finance background, including exposure to the following: accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations. Any prior experience in payroll is highly desirable. The role is open to those qualified by experience and also those who are actively studying AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent. Intermediate Excel skills are required i.e. pivot tables, v-look ups etc. Excellent interpersonal and time management skills are required. The successful candidate will be highly competent working on their own initiative. Salary and Benefits The salary for this role is paying up to £30,000 including an attractive benefits package and study support.
