Stobart Group also holds a portfolio of infrastructure assets and investments. Safety and Compliance Manager - What's the Role? To work closely with functional and line management providing support to Managers and Supervisors in health, safety and environmental aspects of their work, including site visits, preparation of safety & environmental documentation and monitoring site performance. To provide advice and direction ensuring the continuous improvement to safety, health and environment (SHE) performance and promote a positive SHE culture. Be responsible for the monitoring of compliance to relevant legislation, company policies, processes and standards in order to minimise risk and to maximise efficiency in line with our safety standard "Think Safety, Act Safely" and promote our total commitment to sustainability. Identify and assist in the implementation of quality and efficiency improvement initiatives. Safety and Compliance Manager - What will I be responsible for? - Maintain liaison with Quality and Training departments, enforcement agencies and local authorities - Represent the company for the Principal / Plant Operators scheme reviews and client/third party audits - Monitoring safety performance of the company and sub-contractors and reporting of KPI's to the Client - Monitoring site safety performance of the company and sub-contractors - Reviewing and approving Subcontractors and project specific HSE Plans and documentation - Obtaining, collating and providing monthly safety statistical reports to company management/Clients - Act as SHE representative for management review - Advising Project Management on the duties and responsibilities of the Principal Contractor - Provide health, safety and environmental advice and disseminate health, safety and environmental information throughout the company - Keep up to date with modern processes and techniques, with special reference to safety and environment - Advise upon the production and implementation of Safe Systems Of Work and the provision and use of appropriate protective equipment - Maintain, develop and review the risk assessment and COSHH assessment process. Compile noise at work assessments and provide information to Project Management for the monitoring of hand arm vibration - Maintain a knowledge and awareness of Railway Group and Company Standards in relation to HSE, keeping appraised of amendments and ensuring any changes are reflected within working procedures - Maintain awareness of new or changes to legislation that will have an effect the company - Ensure that all accidents and dangerous occurrences are thoroughly investigated and reports provided, detailing causes, conclusions and recommendations to avoid recurrence - Ensure the company SHE Management System is such that it complies with the requirements necessary to maintain accreditation to BS EN ISO & OHSAS 18001:2007 - Maintain and update as necessary the environmental impacts and aspects register - Develop and review SHE targets and objectives - Act as an advisor for environmental issues - Conduct HSQE inspections. Conduct site audits in accordance with the project audit schedule - Interface with client and contractors on health, safety and environmental issues - Maintain and develop the BBS programmes and implement new initiatives within the company - Responsible for inputting the Close Call reports onto the online system - Contact for CIRAS for the company - Organise workload, balancing priorities and scheduling resources, exercising effective management control, delegating responsibility as appropriate Safety and Compliance Manager - Core Qualifications: - NEBOSH certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification - Associate Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (AIEMA) - Membership of appropriate professional institution i.e. Institute of Occupational Health and Safety; Institute of Risk and Safety Management - Internal Auditor - Personal Track Safety (PTS) Safety and Compliance Manager - Core Experience: - Specific knowledge of quality management systems - Experienced in the design and delivery of safety training programmes - Sound knowledge of health, safety and environment legislation standards - Minimum of 5 years experience in the railway industry To submit your CV for this exciting Safety and Compliance Manager opportunity, please click 'Apply' now The successful applicant will be rewarded with a package including company pension scheme and uniform.
