Assistant Accountant based in Woking, Surrey Job Type - full-time, permanent Salary £23,000 - £25,000 Job Description Working for a dynamic, exciting and growing company in the entertainment sector. An assistant accountant is required who can work well as part of a team to support the Finance Manager, completing a range of accounting duties including the preparation of effective financial management information, whilst delivering an excellent level of service to key stakeholders and customers. Key responsibilities - Raise Franchisee invoices, including royalties and other costs relating to the Franchise business - Query resolution, delivering excellent customer service to clients within a timely manner - Pay in cheques and arrange collection of balances due by direct debit - Monitor cancelled direct debit instructions, ensuring each Franchisee has a live direct debit instruction in place - Chase bad and outstanding debts, liaising with the Franchise department when required - Raising any concerns over invoice payments and agreeing an approved approach - Ensure Sage is up-to-date with all credit control notes, providing a clear audit trail, whilst maintaining up-to-date customer details - Assist with cash flow forecasting in terms of money receipts from Franchisees - Control and monitor other ad-hoc income - Manage and maintain the fixed asset register ensuring correct completeness of items purchased or sold - Prepare monthly domestic & overseas management accounts, including supporting schedules as required - Prepare general ledger account reconciliations as required including intercompany transactions - Prepare VAT and other tax returns - Assist with end of year preparation and procedures, such as the annual audit - Provide cover for accounts payable and LTD invoice matching as required - Deliver other financial administration and ad-hoc duties as required Knowledge & Skills Required Solid experience in sales ledger and credit control Experience in using financial software packages including Sage, Line 50 Excellent Excel and spreadsheet skills Customer focused Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Good planning and organisational skills with attention to detail Strong communication skills - written and verbal Able to work on own initiative but also within a team Hold, or be studying towards, a relevant accountancy qualification Parkside Recruitment Ltd is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
