Transport Compliance First Line Manager Wellingborough, United Kingdom Job Description We have an exciting and unique opportunity to join our innovative and award winning Food Services Team Kuehne Nagel Ltd are working on behalf of Whitbread to ensure the safe delivery of chilled, frozen and ambient products to more than 2500 Costa Coffee, Premier Inns and associated restaurant chains throughout the UK The successful candidate will take shift responsibility for delivering a first class and professional delivery service for the UK Whitbread network. Implement and monitor individual and team objectives and targets whilst ensuring company policies, procedures and legal requirements are adhered to. In addition to coordinating resources and activity to ensure that the shift/KPI's are met and exceeded. This role will be any 5 from 7 however predominantly Monday to Friday office hours. Your Tasks and Responsibilities Comply with all relevant legislation covering the fleet, ensuring all vehicles are maintained in line with legal requirements, Ensure that drivers are compliant with the WTD and transport legislation and the Operators License regulations are adhered to Communicate with staff, managers, internal and external contacts as required to ensure effective two way communication exists to support achievement of agreed customer service levels. Planning resources in line with budget to ensure activities are achieved, including agency bookings, overtime and holidays; Manage people performance for sickness, absence, time keeping, Manage driver standards and behaviour through telematics technology, manage all transport assets including vehicles, delivery media and equipment Control costs in line with budgets and propose initiatives that will support cost reductions. Action all defects at time of receipt and ensure all servicing of vehicles is completed as scheduled, including Vehicle Accident Management Ensure Health and Safety and Food Hygiene requirements are met within company and legal frameworks; Ensure all H&S obligations are met providing a legal and safe working environment for all employees that consistently exceed quality standards required Your Skills and Experience Good maths and English skills, IT literate, Smart Analysis Tachograph Software and Microlise Knowledge of the transport legislation and European Working Time Directive, CPC holder essential Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, Experience with Food Safety standards preferred At least 1 years experience in transport environment and experience of managing a large fleet Capability to build, lead and motivate a team Ability to plan, prioritise, organise and work to deadlines Excellent communication skills with the ability to use initiative, organise own workload.
