You use your expertise to improve regulatory knowledge and awareness across the business and Work in conjunction with your colleagues to ensure that all products, services, processes and procedures within PSCU are compliant. Ensure the business meets its regulatory and legal obligations by effectively interpreting the financial services regulatory framework Design, deliver and maintain internal regulatory and legal policies to ensure compliance Work with the senior team to ensure that policies are accurately interpreted and implemented within the business Design and carry out business review activities to ensure that adequate quality assurance procedures are in place which demonstrate adherence to policy To create and carry out regular audits/quality assurance checks and manage the implementation of any necessary improvements including segregation of duties Maintain a log of all existing policies and ensure they are reviewed on a regular basis. Exercise document control when making updates to documents Manage and take accountability for the risk log ensuring that risks are appropriately logged, mitigating action considered and risks reviewed regularly Coach and mentor colleagues to ensure understanding and effective application of compliance processes and procedures To identify, record and make suggestion on how to manage risks Ensure the security, control and regulation of the loan portfolio in accordance with the regulatory requirements To create and drive a regulatory education plan for our employees so they understand their responsibilities and raise risks / concerns appropriately should they identify them Ensure a clear plan is delivered annually to address regulatory learning / education that includes regular communications, briefings and training sessions Understand and oversee other regulatory requirements relevant to the business operation such as Data Protection, Health & Safety, Employment Law and Information Security Produce accurate, timely management reporting Keep up to date with latest innovations relating to compliance and the Credit Union movement Understand and deliver your duties in line with the individual conduct rules required of those working within financial services Maintain and develop own skills , knowledge and behaviours as well as keep up to date with regulatory standards and changes Check the accuracy of all regulatory reports before submission. i.e. Single Customer View & Quarterly Reports Attend Monthly risk committee meetings and board meetings as and when requested Responsible for ensuring actions from internal audits are carried out and that all related risks are reported to the risk committee To demonstrate the PSCU values and competencies at all times To assist with and provide support to other projects and activities as and when required. Qualifications Essential: Compliance Qualification such as ICA Certificate or Diploma or similar qualification Desirable: Banking qualification such as CIOBS Diploma or Certificate in Bank Risk Management Degree level educated relating to financial services or management and/or relevant industry experience (STRONG ADVANTAGE) Experience Essential: Compliance experience within financial services Experience of working with a diverse workforce and customer base Proven experience of working with and applying financial services regulatory frameworks Experience of applying risk management methods Conversant with Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA) and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations, Anti Money Laundering, the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), Financial Services Compensations Scheme (FSCS) and Data Protect
