Our client is a premiere luxury travel company that has operated globally for over 50 years. An immediate vacancy has now arisen for a Maternity cover contract within their Europe Finance team for an Assistant Management Accountant. This role will involve supporting the Management Accountant & other members of the team in the day-to-day functions within the Finance Department, ensuring adequate control in accounting systems and procedures of the company. Responsibilities of the role will include: Review processes to identify areas of improvement Prepare weekly status reports with variance analysis Support the reconciliation and posting of credit card statements Prepare monthly & quarterly reporting packs for submission to Group Support with preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flows Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations Check and approve supplier bank details in B4B Check and Authorise the weekly payment run Investigate supplier queries Ensuring that appropriate accounting processes, systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained Provide support during the audit process and preparation of the statutory accounts Ad hoc projects as may be requested by the Management Accountants The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role and be AAT qualified or studying towards a professional qualification (CIMA/ACC). A high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and both verbal and written communication skills is essential, along with good working knowledge of MS Office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook. You must be able to work well under pressure and maintain accuracy whilst working to tight deadlines.
