Single name counterparty credit risk focused credit risk analyst to play a leading role in the identification, measurement, monitoring, management, controlling and reporting of credit risk Key responsibilities include: Deliver independent, timely, balanced, accessible information and advice on credit rating issues that can be presented to the Credit Assessment and Independent Price Verification Committee (CAIPVC) and Audit & Risk Committee of the Boards, including content for Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) Monitor and challenge the ongoing appropriateness of methodologies used by External Asset managers and credit ratings assigned to external asset manager rated investments, including Private Debt Conduct in-depth and rigorous due diligence credit analysis of Private Debt Investments, prepare case and credit report, make rating recommendation and present for credit rating team and to CAIPVC Monitor the internal credit rating of the Private Debt Portfolio Be a key contributor to the ongoing development of credit rating framework for Private Debt pre and post IPO. Provide business with own credit perspective and assessment of individual investment opportunities, including providing challenge to Asset management and as necessary to external managers directly Provide recommendations to management on the appropriateness of individual transactions, including where corrective actions may need to be considered during the lifetime of a transaction Provide specialist credit rating input into the enhancement (as necessary) of methodology for Matching Adjustment Under Stress, e.g. propose credit ratings under stress for each of the private debt assets in a Matching Adjustment Portfolio Provide risk input and challenge around material new counterparty exposures and credit ratings, including corporate transactions and reinsurance arrangements Lead risk assurance reviews in respect of credit ratings e.g. periodic review of credit rating data used for capital, Matching Adjustment calculations, external reporting including Annual and Quarterly Reporting Templates, Solvency and Financial Condition Reports Provide credit rating input into Investment Guidelines Review appropriateness of credit rating aspects of strategic asset allocation and investment mandates Maintain documentation of the risk control framework with regard to credit ratings consistent with Group risk management standards Provide risk input into resolution of operational events and breaches relating to credit ratings Give policyholder outcomes adequate and appropriate consideration in matters that relate to credit ratings Monitor credit rating changes by External Credit Assessment Institutions (individual credits or broader changes in ECAI ratings methodologies) and keep abreast of industry developments Interact effectively with stakeholders including External Investment Mandate team, Asset Management and Finance Where relevant, contribute to oversight meetings with investment managers The Person: Strong fundamental and technical skills to assess credit risk within illiquid asset classes and of corporate bonds Ability to think critically, independently and creatively. Ability to think 'outside-the-box' - propose new analytical approaches to new asset classes and challenge the existing rating approaches, when needed, to improve effectiveness and the overall quality of Internal Rating framework Excellent communication and influencing skills (both written and verbal) Ability to challenge status quo in effective and constructive manner Demonstrable ability to work constructively in a diverse and multicultural team environment Please note, should you not receive feedback 28 days, unfortunately your application has been unsuccessful.
