Page Personnel are working with a business in Skelmersdale to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their accountancy function.

Client Details

Description

The role of Assistant Accountant is to manage the administration and reconciliation of intercompany balances, fixed assets and VAT returns, as well as intratsta reporting. The key responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of all the business' intercompany accounting activities working closely with stakeholders in the business and ensuring accounts balance within a tight deadline
  • Processing recharge invoices on the purchase ledger
  • Intercompany payments
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and posting journals at month end including accruals and revaluations
  • Managing the fixed asset accounting process, posting depreciation journals, additions and disposals, as well as reconciling at month end
  • Completing UK VAT returns
  • EC sales submissions and intrastat reporting
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Bank reconciliations and cash management

Profile

The successful applicant must have the following skills and experience:

  • CIMA/ACCA studier or AAT qualified
  • Knowledge of an ERP system and strong Excel skills
  • Experience covering intercompany reconciliations and fixed asset accounting
  • Self motivated with a desire to learn and progress
  • Strong communication skills
