Hays Accountancy and Finance are partnering with a leading and growing Facilities Management organisation based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire to recruit for a dynamic and hands-on Assistant Accountant. The position will assist the Financial Controller and Financial Director in the day to day activities of the business, and achieving accurate and timely accounting information, reporting documents to the group and budgeting process. Your new role
Your key duties will include supporting the Financial Controller in accruals, prepayment along with month-end journals. You will check payments runs, process intercompany billing and recharges along with fixed asset register and depreciations. You will assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, monthly bank reconciliations, rolling ledger and distribution reports along with assisting in audit preparation. You will support the accounts administrator and get involved in ad-hoc projects/financial reporting for the organisation.
What you'll get in return
To be considered for this hands-on and varied Assistant Accountant position you will have experience within a similar role, strong numeracy and analytical skills along with being able to build relationships with internal/external bodies. You will need key MS Excel skills and be trained in a range of accounting packages. Ideally you will be studying towards your AAT/CIMA/ACCA, candidates qualified by experience will be considered. Sage line 200 experience would be advantageous but not essential.
