International Tax Director London £90,000 - £130,000 (D.O.E) Extensive benefits package This market leading pharmaceutical organisation is currently taking the industry by storm in pioneering innovative new ways in which drugs are commercialised and brought to market. Their business model gives them an unrivalled ability to overcome and breakdown sometimes very difficult barriers to markets and as a result their market share is growing at a phenomenal pace. Operating in over 100 countries with a broad range of pharmaceutical products in their portfolio they have over the last few years posted exceptional financial results, made significant investments in new product and company acquisitions and are now targeting future growth following a strategic global restructure. Company background An extremely diverse, international pharmaceutical company focused on speciality and legacy pharmaceutical products. A truly global organisation with an international footprint selling a diversified portfolio of more than 200 established, off-patent products in more than 100 countries. One of the organisations areas of expertise is in the acquisition, licensing and development of off-patent prescription medicines, which are often niche, hard-to-make products. These medicines are then manufactured and sold through an outsourced manufacturing network and marketed internationally through a combination of direct sales and local distribution relationships. Their current diversified product portfolio consists of 200 molecules in a variety of dosage strengths, formulations and geographic markets and covering a range of therapeutic categories. You will report directly to the CFO in London. The purpose of this role will be to establish a cohesive and harmonised approach to the management and reporting of Tax. To achieve this the International Tax Director will work with the business and global tax in developing a strategy from which a tax framework and policy will be implemented. This is an excellent opportunity to lead and enhance the Tax function within a major multi-national business, driving significant value through change and efficiency. Key responsibilities Develop strong working relationships with business, finance, and tax leadership across the global organisation to collaborate on significant tax matters affecting the operations Harmonise the business approach to managing taxes in the region by fostering greater collaboration and cooperation amongst business unit tax and finance resources Collaborate on strategic tax initiatives impacting the Company's operations including mergers and acquisitions, cross-border financing, transfer pricing, and tax credit opportunities Proactively work with business to structure operations to promote tax efficiency and mitigate tax risk Oversee tax operations in areas of compliance, cash management, tax provisioning and audits (both direct/indirect and employment taxes) Actively engage in quarterly financial reporting processes and advise on the impact of transactions Review relevant tax filings for completeness and technical accuracy including proper elections and disclosures Review legal agreements, step plans, and documentation to ensure tax requirements are met Identify and document relevant uncertain tax positions affecting the global tax provision Provide strategic support and assist with the development and review of relevant tax audit information requests Work closely with and manage tax advisers on significant tax projects Develop and provide direction on global tax policies and processes to help foster a strong control and governance environment within the tax function Requirements At least 8 years tax experience ideally within a related field, gained either from a leading firm of accountants or from within a multinational group An appropriate professional qualification - ACA/CTA qualifications preferred Exposure to a high degree of International tax, with more expertise UK tax and transfer pricing Exposure to Diverted profit tax and managing ongoing HMRC enquiries and negotiations
