An exciting opportunity has arisen with a client of mine. They are a medium sized consulting firm who has offices in the UK and abroad. They are looking for a credit controller to join their team on a permanent basis. If you are a credit controller looking for a new opportunity please read on. Duties
• Contacting 60 day plus debtors by telephone and email, recording details of conversations against the relevant transaction on the debtor management system
• Liaising with fee earners and their secretaries regarding problems notified by clients regarding their account and requests from clients for copy invoices and breakdowns of fees and disbursements;
• Updating finance systems with changes to client names, addresses, contact names, telephone numbers and references;
• Reviewing the aged analysis of debtors each month and where they have not been made already, allocating all receipts, credit notes and other adjustments against the respective invoices;
• Producing and sending out standard debt chaser letters at appropriate times;
• Generating and updating reports of categorised debtors for discussion at monthly debtors meeting
• Preparation and posting of journals in respect of adjustments to be made to clients accounts (eg bank charges and exchange differences, mispostings, etc.). Other matters
• assist with any special projects or administrative tasks, as may be determined from time to time This role would suit someone who has previous credit control experience, self starter and possess a fair degree of common sense. Excellent communication skills and commercial acumen. The candidate should be numerate and computer literate. Knowledge of any of the accounting systems such as Sage, Deltek, Outlook, Excel and Word. Exposure to, and understanding of, a partnership would be beneficial but not essential.
