Overall Responsibilities
• Actively manage and develop a team of 3.
• Responsible for leading the technical acco unting and reporting team.
• Involvement in projects as required, i.e. replacement accounting system
• Audit lead for the business.
• Working with the accounting manager to ensure all technical matters are concluded for both month-end and year-end
• Statutory reporting and tax compliance for numerous legal entities and regulatory reporting to the FCA.
• Ensure that the financial results of companies are produced to internal and external deadlines (statutory, regulatory & management) including full integrity of each ledger. Technical Accounting and Statutory Reporting
• Continuing to improve and evolve IFRS reporting processes (with particular focus on IFRS9)
• Must show appetite to follow technical developments in accounting standards and regulations and to be able to explain and present to senior management including the audit committee, the impact of new standards.
• Develop in-house technical knowledge and mentor/upskill team as necessary.
• Manage the day to day relationships with external auditors and tax advisors and other external stakeholders. Tax Compliance
• Responsible for overseeing tax compliance relating to corporation tax, VAT and PSA - including accurate computations, and ensuring timely return submissions and payment. Legal and Regulatory Reporting
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting deadlines to the FCA, Bank of England and ONS.
• Broad knowledge of FCA regulations required, including keeping up to date with can changes to rules and reporting (specific focus on MLAR and BOE returns)
• Have an awareness of regulatory responsibilities particularly TCF, AML, DPA Background
• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Trained in practice with financial services client experience OR working in financial services
• Strong knowledge of IFRS
• Experience in managing audits and producing a set of company accounts
