You will be joining a great finance team and an excellent working environment. Main Purpose of the Job: ? To lead and manage the approach to Finance business partnering and deliver a value adding business support mechanism aimed at improving decision making which supports/drives institutional change. ? Develop a culture of continuous improvement aimed at improving commercial awareness, budget scrutiny, and cost control and income generation. ? Responsible for the management of the Finance - Research & Grants team to deliver high quality financial management and control of externally funded projects and externally funded programmes as appropriate Principal Duties and
Responsibilities:
1. Continue to drive the development of a culture of continuous improvement through the provision of a strong business partnering framework 2. Coordinate the budget and budget setting process devolving responsibility to Departments as appropriate while ensuring that a strong system of support and challenge is in place. 3. Develop metrics aligned to strategic objectives to assess performance 4. Monitoring and review of performance and results and agreement of any actions resulting, together with details of impact on forecast outturn. 5. Coordination, production and dissemination of monthly reporting pack. 6. Production of financial forecast. 7. Develop costing methodologies and appropriate investment appraisal models. 8. Manage the business partners and the team. 9. To provide timely and accurate management information, ensuring there is appropriate financial planning, probity and reporting in respect of the funds 10. To manage the production of financial claims for each project/programme in line with the requirements of the funding organisation. 11. Co-ordinate month end reporting with colleagues in both teams. 12. To undertake other such duties as commensurate with the role and its grade
