The Role This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join this progressive organisation based in Reading. Working within Business Finance, you will be responsible for assisting the Financial Accountants and the Controller with all aspects of day to day operations and accounting, with primary responsibility to assist with operational queries in the Asset Finance accounting mailbox to make financial adjustments on contracts. You will also resolve bank and control account reconciliations by liaising with the bank reconciliations, cash operations and divisional operations teams. Key Accountabilities include Controllership Daily updating of Cashbooks and posting transactions to Leasesoft, APAK and General Ledger Reconciliation of control accounts Reconciliation of general ledger to source systems accounts Gain an understanding of operational processes and suggest improvements Financial Operations Support the Asset Finance business with raising of manual invoices and credit notes Process customer account and adjustments on Asset Finance systems and required general ledger postings Financial & Management Accounts Preparation of month end adjustments Posting general ledger journals Building ad-hoc reports (Excel) and improving current reports where necessary Additional Responsibilities Support Finance Business Partner function of Business Finance - in particular with business operation activities Support Finance teams with ad hoc analyses as required Experience required AAT / ACCA / CIMA studier Good knowledge of double entry bookkeeping Excellent Excel skills Cash allocation and reconciliation experience Desire to work in a dynamic team and organisation The Rewards As you would expect, this opportunity offers a competitive basic salary and reward package, and you'll also benefit from our commitment to investing in your professional development.
