SF Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Commercial Analyst on an interim basis to work for a well established business in the Nottingham city centre. The purpose of the role is to report into the FP&A Manager and focus on the companies planning & budgeting process, with associated analysis and reporting deliverables to comply with reporting requirements. The successful candidate will support the Head of Finance in delivering a coordinated business planning process for the company with the appropriate levels of granularity, transparency and supporting analysis. You will be responsible for the continuous development and monitoring of the companies cost base; including financial planning, reporting, and project/ synergy financial modelling. Key Duties: Provide analytical review of overall results for management and reporting purposes. Monitoring the companies expense base through development of consistent and relevant financial and strategic reporting, and ongoing strategic development through long term financial planning and project financial modelling. Coordinate and facilitate the wider insurance and corporate end-to-end business planning process to ensure appropriate levels of granularity, transparency and supporting analysis. Production of reforecasts throughout the year. Support the production of the companies monthly management reporting packs, in close collaboration with component companies. Allocation and monitoring of the companies shared service expenses and follow up effectively on variations to plan/forecast expectations with budget holders to allow the management team to proactively control and manage operating expenses. Building and maintaining an accurate and robust expense allocation model in line with the Group's expense allocation policy. Consolidation of budgets and forecasts for the company. Providing analysis of outputs and results and preparation of executive and board financial presentations. Liaise with relevant stakeholders to standardize the expense allocation process, budgeting, monitoring for the company. Contribute to the provision of a comprehensive business partnering function through the structured provision of useful and timely management financial information and analysis. Expense/synergy budgeting, forecasting and monitoring for projects and integration plans. Delivering tactical and strategic financial advice to support operational decision-making processes on an ad-hoc and cyclical basis. Coordination of the end to end companies expense budgeting process and maintenance of the companies expense allocation policy and modelling capability. Work directly with external auditors to validate the appropriateness of the expense allocation process and incorporating any constructive feedback. Ensure that the FCA principle of treating customers fairly (TCF) is applied in those areas of the business within the jobholder's responsibility. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications and Experience: Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar) Minimum 2:1 degree from a leading university. Strong business modelling and analytical skills, including presentation of information to key decision makers & senior executives. Strong Microsoft Excel and data manipulation skills, with experience of working with complex financial models. Working knowledge of UK GAAP and US GAAP accounting standards. Experience of preparing budgets and forecasts and providing analysis on results throughout the budgeting cycle. Experience of developing internal policies - and associated financial modelling - to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, statutory and internal requirements. P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Budgeting/Forecasting processes and reporting.
