If you live in North Lanarkshire, interested in working with people and aged between 16-24 (prior to 31st March 2019), or if you are disabled or care experienced and aged between 16-29 years (prior to the 31st March 2019), you may be eligible to apply if you meet the rest of the essential criteria. An essential part of this position will be to gain valuable on the job skills and training and to complete a Modern Apprenticeship SVQ Level 3 in Accounting. Apprentices spend time working in a range of different financial service areas learning the business from the ground up, so they can make an effective contribution in helping the Council deliver its services. Two Highers at bands A-C, 4 Standard Grades, at bands 1-3 / 4 National 5s, at band A-C (both including English), or equivalent, are essential. A Standard Grade/Nat 5 in Accounting at bands 1-3 is desirable. You will have good interpersonal skills and be enthusiastic, confident and outgoing. Well developed IT skills and good communication skills are both deemed essential You must be able to give practical examples of when and how you have demonstrated team work and you should have an awareness of, and a general interest in, Accounting and working in an office environment, therefore, previous office work experience would be advantageous.
