Management Accountant

My client is a growing company with a turnover of over £20m. Recently created in its current form, the business is going through a period of significant change, and as part of that change we're seeking to appoint a qualified accountant.

Supporting their finance director, the role encompasses all aspects of management and statutory reporting, short- and long- term forecasting, assuring robust financial controls, and to help the business understand its key drivers and performance for decision-making. The role requires a good general understanding of financial systems and software and to use Excel to an advanced level.

• Support the finance director in all aspects of management and financial reporting and short- and long- term forecasting
• Support the business to understand key drivers and performance for decision-making
• Ensure that the business operates robust financial control for reliable financial reporting

Responsibilities and duties

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including variances against budget, forecast and prior year
• Ensure that all balance sheet control accounts are reconciled on a timely basis
• Report to business managers on their financial performance for the month
• Update the current forecast in the light of actual results and amended business forecasts
• Prepare 13-week rolling cash forecasts

Technical skills

• Accomplished in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Current knowledge of accounting standards and accounting issues
• Understanding of complex enterprise systems
