Axon Moore is working with a leading successful international business based in the Greater Manchester region. Our client is currently going through an exciting period of growth and as a result, a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to oversee a team of purchase ledger clerks within their expanding finance team has arisen. The Accounts Payable Manager will take overall control of the purchase ledger function, ensuring suppliers are paid promptly and major accounts are reconciled monthly. Key responsibilities as follows:
• Manage a team of purchase ledger clerks
• Manage the preparation of weekly and monthly payment runs
• Ensure all major supplier accounts are reconciled monthly
• Check payment details for suppliers are correct
• Understand and report on goods received not invoiced (GRNI)
• Ensure debit notes are raised where invoice doesn't match PO / GRN quantity
• Implement better controls around the existing purchase order system
• Liaise with and establish lines of communication with suppliers and key stakeholders
• Be the main payment contact liaising with other departmental heads in the business
• Review current processes and suggest potential improvements
• Develop adhoc analysis as requested by management Person Specification:
• Proven experience of managing team in a large FMCG environment is essential
• Management style "Lead by example and hands on"
• You must have worked in a high volume transactional environment previously
• You will demonstrate process improvement throughout your career
• You will be happy to go out and meet with suppliers to build relationships and also spend time travelling to other UK sites as required.
• Advanced in MS Excel and be highly system literate
• Highly numerical and analytical
• Able to work in a complex business with many international suppliers
• Comfortable managing own workload and managing the workload of others.
• The ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and prioritise effectively.
