We are looking to appoint an ambitious, qualified Head of Finance who is a self-starter and is comfortable managing a group of companies with reporting to the senior team as and when required. This individual will be comfortable making informed decisions and be able to work independently from the Board. The company is one of the UK's leading independent television distribution companies. Our Requirements: a proven track record of group accounting and consolidation working. Preparation of group management accounts for the board and for main bankers in order to meet covenant reporting requirements. Regularly liaise with the board of directors and major stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. This involves being flexible and reactive to work requests as and when they come in. Cashflow reporting - a key requirement is to be able to liaise with the key individuals across the business in order to build an informed view on cashflows with well documented and outlined assumptions. Budgeting - ensure that budgets are circulated in a timely manner and like cashflows are built on well documented assumptions, requiring significant stakeholder involvement. Undertake and continually review accrued income schedules to maintain an up to date position with regards to our sales pipeline. Ensure key balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and reviewed as required but at least quarterly. Be able to link (and understand the link) between accrued income schedules, advance/recoupment forecasts and cash forecasts so they are based on consistent assumptions and basis. Manage and undertake the year-end audit, liaising with auditors from planning through to the audit closing meeting and release of results to the market. Individual should have a track record of improving and continually developing better financial control processes to ensure that the finance function is operating as efficiently and effectively as possible. Multi-task group related projects with the day-to-day running of the finance function within the business. Manage workloads of team members to ensure that they complete work in a timely manner. Managing and developing a small team ensuring they are motivated and understand clearly their role within the finance function and the overall business alike. Undertake CPD to ensure they understand and are across all accounting policies and reporting updates. This would be extended for sector specific learning and development as required. Review of quarterly royalty distribution statements. Working with current team to improve the quarterly distribution process, looking for efficiencies and ways to improve Key Skills ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification (ideally 3-5 years post qualified). Self-starter who has keen eye for processes and procedures improvement and implementing change where necessary. Good interpersonal skills and ability to explain workings clearly (liaise with board members, manage finance team and deal with clients and suppliers etc.). Good understanding of consolidated management accounting for both preparing and managing the process. Understand the stages of an audit and be comfortable managing the process each financial year. Ambitious and outgoing character to fit the nature of the media industry and team around them. Strong Excel skills, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and other standard software packages. Knowledge of Sage advantageous but not mandatory
