Principal Auditor - Flintshire County Council Putting good governance at the heart of the Council In financially challenging times the Council is undergoing widespread service reconfiguration and change. Those changes are underpinned by high quality governance arrangements to support service delivery, integrity and strong internal controls. The Internal Audit Service is highly valued at Flintshire for the contribution it makes to improving existing processes and designing well managed service change and transformation. Our successful candidate will contribute to the achievement of the Council Plan priorities by providing advice to Senior Managers on Governance, Risk and Control. The Council is looking for someone who can support and enhance the service further, a Principal Auditor with significant people management skills and audit experience gained across the public or private sector. Well-developed communication, interpersonal and influencing skills are essential. Our successful candidate will have significant risk based audit and advisory and consulting experience and a proven ability to assist in delivering the planned programme of work. Financial and commercial experience will be highly desirable to support our future delivery of transformation. Candidates will be CCAB qualified Accountant (CIPFA, CA, ACCA) or a qualified Member of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (CMIIA). We have an accomplished Internal Audit team at Flintshire with a great reputation within the Council.
