Management Accountant

Your new company
Hays Senior Finance are currently partnered with a leading public sector organisation in Edinburgh to recruit a Management Accountant. This is a daily rate contract from £180 - £220 per day depending on experience. Your new company is a dynamic and highly reputable establishment in their industry, and the role will be 3 months initially with possibility for extension. Joining a small team you will assist during a busy year-end period, and you will work alongside the business to improve processes.

Your new role
Day to day you will be responsible for supporting the financial budget setting process to ensure alignment with the goals and objectives of the organisation. You will ensure that the required monthly management information is compiled, and you will provide feedback on performance against targets and budget including identifying the reason for variances and the recommendation of corrective actions. You will also be involved in producing year-end accounts, and liaising with key stakeholders in the business.

What you'll need to succeed
Ideally you will be a qualified accountant with the experience and technical expertise necessary to deal with a variable workload. You will be a team player with strong communication skills, and you will deliver reports with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. You will have experience of creating budgetary control systems, tailoring reports to stakeholder needs, and you will be proficient on Excel. Furthermore, you will possess the ability to use your own initiative and suggest new ideas for the development of the business.
