I am currently working with an SME insurance broker looking for a Financial Controller to join the business and take a leading role within the finance function. This is a business with scope and opportunity for career progression and the opportunity to make a mark on shaping the finance team and driving best practice behaviours.
Your new role
You will be responsible for the day to day management of the finance function including management of 3 direct reports. Key duties will include:
- Management of the Month end process
- Production of the board packs
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Cashflow Management
- Co-ordination and management of the audit process
- Systems and controls development
- Client Money Calculations
- Ad-hoc work for CEO and MD
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be a qualified accountant with experience in the insurance broking sector highly desirable. You will need to have a strong reporting background with exposure to FCA regulations and a willingness to get into the detail of the numbers. You will need to show strong leadership qualities and good stakeholder management skills as the role works closely with the executive leadership team of the business.
