The Company: I am currently working on behalf of a Chartered Financial Planning firm based in Stockport who are looking to add an experienced IFA Administrator to their technical back-office support team. My client is a truly independent financial advice firm who adopt a personal, tailored approach to financial planning and require an experienced financial services professional to join their team. Their core market is private wealth inclusive of investments, pensions, protection & IHT/tax planning) with a professional focused, targeted client base being the foundation of their continued development as a firm. The Role: This role sits in the firm's Financial Planning Support team, sitting between their administrative teams and their paraplanning function in a technically biased admin support capacity. Essentially it is a very broad wealth administration support role geared around supporting multiple high performing financial advisers from a technical point of view; and dealing with client questions/queries from a relationship management point of view. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Preparation for client reviews: Carrying out pre-meeting client research, including appraisal of fund holdings, applying basic knowledge of the tax efficiency of products held, Income Drawdown housekeeping check, oversight of possible capital gains (for CGT calculations), updating client management information Check all compliance paperwork is present and complete, whilst identifying and collecting any information required to bring records up to date Ensure client objectives and risk profiles have been clearly documented by the adviser Responsible for issuing adviser meeting notes to the client, ensuring that meeting action points are seen through to completion in a timely manner Provide product technical support (within role remit), and knowledge of products/providers to financial advisers to assist them with any day to day client queries Main facilitator in dealing with a range of client requests, including withdrawal requests, income adjustments, prompting fund switch suggestions for the adviser's consideration (to align clients with the latest version of our in-house model portfolios) Investment/Pension product research, which requires a full understanding of product charges and features Comparing fund performance & finding alternative funds available within a contract which is suitable for a client's level of risk Preparing and implementing recommendations Bed to ISA/Bed to SIPP suitability letters as well as existing investment/pension top up reports For more technical reports; ensures report requirements are clearly set for our Paraplanning team to take ownership of The Person: The successful candidate will ideally come from an IFA/wealth management background and have administrative exposure to supporting IFA's/financial advisers in a private wealth environment. You will have wide-ranging knowledge in one of more of the following product areas: investments, pensions, life cover, savings/bonds/ISAs and ideally 3 years' experience in a similar working within financial planning. Basic research and report writing skills would be advantageous but aren't essential as training will be provided. My client is looking for a technically sound IFA admin support head who enjoys sales support, but isn't necessarily that focused on an out and out technical role/paraplanning etc. What next?
